Alright I'm asking for a little help hither. I teach kids brazilian jiu jitsu ages 3-6. I've done it a few weeks and love it. The kids enjoy it and I can see them learning

I was wondering if the sherdog forum has any ideas for good kids games for bjj class, where they learn the basics simply dont really realize it. maybe some pointers for the class in general?

any advice will help! I know the kids love class but I want to keep teaching them different things, out 4 year former bailey wants to compete presently and i want her to be gear up!

My own ii kids (under 10) have a great time training at the local judo gild.

The lodge is very competitive, and the games aid to become everyone motivated and having fun.

    Some games that they like:

"smash your partner into the barrel" basically consists of a soft butt shaped mat that you try to push your partner into. You tin can also play a version that awards points for throws or holdowns as well.

"Japanese bulldog" like British Bulldog, but the line of kids is on their knees and has to crawl by the kneeling 'bulldogs' who try to flip them over and pin them to make them bring together the bulldogs.

"toe tag" starting sitting back to dorsum partners compete (ne waza) to see who can tag the other kids toes start.

"ribbon game" where partners start sitting back to back and compete (ne waza or standing) to try to accept the ribbon that each thespian has tucked in the dorsum of their belt similar a tail.

(Information technology'southward late, and so if my brief descriptions don't paint a complete picture just enquire for details).

Some kids really like when you lot give them sticks and let them swing them around and make karate noises. Possibly throw a few punches and kicks too.

Seriously, try the Gracie Bullyproof program; it has alot of good stuff.

  6. Sounds similar fun. Skillful luck with your form TS

me2play i hald already been using a few of these games.. as for kyoshinks, joao crus got his black belt from my coach, so I've been using a flake of his stuff too... the kids are absoultely crawly! i'm actually very surprised in how coordinated they are for their ages!! like i said i am the head coach of the little kids class, ages 3-6 and banana for the immature developed class 7+. our 3-6 year olds really had their first real sparring sessions in grade and they did great! no tears loftier fives all around and they did great with take downs, pulling baby-sit and working for positions.

i make sure to have them all learn positions by games, and at present they beg to play the mount, sid control or back mount game. its been an amazingly rewarding feel. The head teacher at our school is amazed by how much the kids accept picked upwards, equally am i!

  9. i would not focus and so much on the bjj - submission side of grappling for kids. especially when non all of them have a lot of control or sometimes fifty-fifty interest in it. kids similar to bounciness and fall. doing small judo/break falling games are a blast. i've ever found the more you can (willing) to physically piece of work with the kids, the more they enjoy it.

The kids play position games every form. The likewise practise line drills, different games to work balance and bones Bjj moves. They acquire 2 techniques a calendar week that vet mixed in with the games. I'chiliad starting to figure out what works all-time for the little kids they nevertheless desire to exist similar the big kids then we have to make a dainty even ground
  13. The "Gracie Games" discs from the Bullyproof set are pretty awesome.
